Is This Thing On?
Presented By:
Public speaking skills improve far more than performance on a stage. They help us face fear, organize our thoughts, and communicate clearly in meetings, conversations, and professional settings.

In this session, Jonn Howell and Cris Ippolite share practical tools for communication drawn from real-world experience and proven speaking frameworks. Jonn focuses on audience connection, managing fear, and delivery, while Cris highlights simple, repeatable structures for building talks—such as clear openings, logical flow, strong endings, and realistic timing.

Topics include pacing, breathing, audience focus, preparation, and a time-tested structure that works for any presentation. Attendees will see examples of how structure and rehearsal make speaking more predictable, less stressful, and more effective.

The session will include modeled examples such as short talks and panel-style discussions. A separate follow-up practice session will offer participants a low-risk, supportive environment to apply these techniques. This approach was used last year and proved both effective and engaging.

Bring your fear and apprehension. This session demonstrates how preparation and structure make speaking more enjoyable and more successful. Everyone benefits from better spoken communication in all of their relationships.
